Lately I've been getting a lot of error messages on this forum. Something about too many lines open. I think the letters SQR are there along with a number or two. It's not me because I have nothing open but this forum. Anybody know what's happening?

ps Error Message follows:
SQL mysql 4
too many connections 1040

is what the message says. yes, I got it again.

I've been seeing that off and on, too. Including the first time I tried to reply to this thread.

I just got it for the first time today as well. I looked at the web site stats and we are not getting an unusual number of hits to the site compared to the other months.

This issue has to do with the forum upgrade I put in last week. I'm-a workin on it.
I may go bald, but you won't know it as you can't see me. :rotfl:  Just kidding.
I do know about it as I got it for the first time last week. Thought I had it fixed, but....well....I guess not.
Please be patient. I'll get it.

Edit to add:
I hope no one uses the search function. From what I can find, the problem is the search function adds every word posted to the database in it's own area, and that is what is causing (supposedly) our general sql error. I've disabled the search feature and we shall see if that does the trick.

I just got the error myself, trying to post this reply. :(

I found that you don't need to go back to the index and click through to get to where you want to go.. your desired page URL is still in the address bar (at least in my IE it is). Just hit Reload/Refresh again and again until it loads.

I'll keep looking.

Edit:
I've turned this error over to my host. It appears to be their problem. I'm not sure at this time, so for the time being, the search feature will remain turned off. Once the problem has been fixed, I'll turn it back on.

I have narrowed the problem down to the database...grr...
My host knows about it and will hopefully have it fixed today.

Welll......they must be working on it because it's kind of slow. But, at least...so far.....no General Error.
