I'm just surprised Henry let that one slip by him!

I'm glad things are moving along for ya.

If there is something you don't like, you need to take it up with the contractor. If that doesn't work, (as in the case with the burnt studs) talk to the City Inspector. They might just be trying to save "themselves" some money at your cost.

The burnt studs have all been replaced. However, the contractor called us the day before Thanksgiving to let us know that the roofing shingles weren't quite the same color. So, on our way to my sister's we stopped by the house to have a look. The new shingles were GREEN!!! We just had a new roof put on about 3 years ago and the shingles we picked were WHITE!!! Needless to say we were a tad upset. We gave the contractor the name of our roofer who gave them the appropriate color for the shingles. Anyway the GREEN shingles have been replaced. The windows and back doors are waiting to be put in and we have to let them know what type of front door we want. We've also talked with the flooring people about carpeting and vinyl. I still need to go pick out paint colors. But everything is kinda on hold because we had an ice/snow storm the other day and they still don't have the garage door on so it's a little breezy in there. We also need to go and pick out a dishwasher and ceiling fans. As far as I know, they're still saying we should be back in the house by April.

Mixing white shingles with green shingles is a no-no?

Go figure.

Maybe if it was like that to begin with - and as Brian says - maybe if the trim was lavender. However, this would have been one side of the roof is white and the other is green...

If the north side was green, you could pretend it was moss.

Is this a licensed roofer Bev??
I just cannot see a reputable roofer trying to pawn off green shingles on a white roof.

it just doesn't make since.
I'm glad they went ahead and fixed it correctly.

I'm assuming it's a sub-contractor. They said they were going for a "close" match. Geesh!
