Well that explains it then - too much helium made them light headed.

Quantum mechanics explains solubility of hydrogen in earth’s iron core
A Swedish research team headed by Professor Börje Johansson has used theoretical calculations to show that hydrogen is soluble in iron under the special conditions that prevail in the core of the earth. The findings, which explain why experiments and theory have not accorded with each other,
At last somebody's ironed out this core problem! :D

As I've heard is stared the classrom is theory, the workplace is pratical application. And yet there are those convinced their speculations are indeed fact. :nano:

theory is an unproven hypothesis

fact can be proven by the five senses...taste, touch, hearing, vision, or smell

And yet police I have known say the worst kind of case you can have against a criminal or in an accident is with eye witnesses. They all see something different. That and some kids will say "yes" to anything an adult asks thinking s/he must please the adult.

I have bad hearing and yet I hear things people with good hearing translate into that which they wish to hear.

Taste; there's a group of folks who like the idea of eating jalepeno peppers but not the taste so some other folks are trying to cultivate a jalepeno that ain't hot. :flame:

And as for touch, in this era of implants all bets are off.

Re "theory is an unproven hypothesis "

In science, theory is a body of knowledge about a subject, typically based on one or a few general principles, and which is supported by evidence.

A hypothesis is a statement that becomes a theory (or part of one) when evidence is collected that supports it.

Universities prepare as physicists plan to pop protons
The world's largest science experiment, a physics experiment designed to determine the nature of matter, will produce a mountain of data. And because the world's physicists cannot move to the mountain, an army of computer research scientists is preparing to move the mountain to the physicists.

New process generates hydrogen from aluminum alloy to run engines, fuel cells
A Purdue University engineer has developed a method that uses an aluminum alloy to extract hydrogen from water for running fuel cells or internal combustion engines, and the technique could be used to replace gasoline.
