I know this is kinda hard to understand. I'm still figuring it out.

Click profile above,
then in the tabs, click profile
on the left side, click public information
This far, I'm with you.
Then click personal information.
Then just under the name slot is the gender. Your choices are:
unknown, male, female. Just click the box for the one you want.
This is where I'm not following you. I'm not finding a clickable link for personal information. I see the information there, but nothing to click that will allow me to change it.

Place your cursor on the words "Public Information" and click. Then do the same on the next page.

I, too, was looking for a button or icon to click on but the words are the links.

That's if I'm understanding your problem correctly. :?

The words on the left side are the links.

"note to self....tell maker to make this less complicated" :scratchhead:

I know...It is a whole lot different than the demo I looked at. They could Make this a lot more simply and straight forward.

Sorry to trouble you again.

If you mean the words on the far left side, the only words that I am seeing there are "E-Mail," "PM," etc. If you mean the words, "Gender," etc., I'm not able to make them work as links.

It's no bother. :)

At the top of the forum, there a group of words.
trucker2000.net
A new place to learn, grow, and make friends.

Under that are links.
Faq, search, etc....

Click on profile. Then you will see all the rest. Look at the first post in this thread for an explination of what all you will see there.
If you are trying to access your profile from the words in your posts, they aren't links.
hope this helps.

Click on Profile at the top of the page.

The Profile interface is through a series of tabs. The mental model is like cards in a recipe box.

When you first go to the Profile page, you'll see tabs for Public, Home, Registering, Profile, Buddy List, and Private Messaging. Click on the Profile tab.

Below that first row of tabs will appear a new row, specific to your Profile. They are Your Profile, Preferences, Signature, and Avatar. Click on the Your Profile tab.

Now, you'll see a list of Profile settings on the left side of the 'card'. They are Internationalization, Privacy, Notification, Posting, Reading, and Public Information. Click on Public Information.

Under Public Information, you will get a list of Web Informations, Messengers, and Personal Informations. Click on Personal Informations.

Voila! In half a dozen  simple steps, you've got access to your Real Name, Gender, Birthday, Location, Occupation, and Interests information!

I like tabbed interfaces (usually), but mixing the tabs with lists makes it a bit confusing, and it is waay too many levels deep. It would be better if all the personal information stuff (web, messengers, personal) was on a single tab, even if you had to scroll down to see it all.

Thank you! What I was doing wrong was trying to get to Public too early. I was clicking the Public tab instead of the Profile tab. That has the words "Personal Informations" with my information underneath it, so I thought that I was in the right place to make the changes, but the "Personal Informations" there is not a link.

Yeah. That's why we tried to leave him behind. He's always embarrassing the rest of us with those outrageously clear and distinct explanations of his! :rotfl:
