Two-time Oscar-winning composer Leonard Rosenman died Tuesday in Woodland Hills, California.

As reported by Variety, Rosenman died of a heart attack at the Motion Picture & Television Country House and Hospital, which is located in Woodland Hills, California.

Rosenman was the composer of the music for Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home., for which he received an Oscar nomination. He also composed the scores for movies such as Rebel Without a Cause, Fantastic Voyage and Beneath the Planet of the Apes.

In 1975 and 1976, Rosenman won back-to-back Oscars for his work on Barry Lyndon and Bound for Glory. His work on Cross Creek garnered an Oscar nomination, as well as his Star Trek work.

He was also active in scoring music for television, and for writing music for the concert stage, which included chamber works, two violin concertos and a symphony.

Rosenman was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. He is survived by his wife Judie Gregg Rosenman, three children and two grandchildren.
