On travel soon

I'll be heading to Japan for three weeks starting on Friday, installing and testing an EA-6B simulator at the marine corps air station in Iwakuni. It's the first of maybe three trips over the next couple of months.
I just wanted to let you folks know so that, in case my access is limited, you'll know why I dropped off the radar for a while.

w00t! My trip has been delayed until the 30th, and shortened by a week (so I can be back in time for "Star Wars in Concert", though my boss doesn't know what my important plans which I can't change are, so shhh!).
Though I get a one-night trip to Newport, RI, on Tuesday as a consolation prize.

Yeah, I hate those whirlwind trips where you don't even unpack because you're checking out the next morning. I prefer to spend at least two nights in a place, and have a chance to absorb the local flavor.

I just got back from Newport. There was frost there this morning!
Glad to be home.
But I'm heading for Japan on Monday...
It rained most of yesterday, dampening (ha) my visit to Newport. We did drive around in the drizzle and check out the mansions, before having dinner at a nice place downtown, though.

Japan? Check out their prices for electronic equipment while you're there.
From what I read they're better and cheaper than in America.
