How long?

Post by Xjmt » Thu Jul 18, 2013 8:16 am

How long has it been now that I've had to sign on with a new 'name' and 'password'? It has to be at least a year. And yet I still find myself trying to sign on with my original name a password. Schmuck! :nano:  :coffee:

I wonder if one of the admins can delete your old account and change your new name to your old name. I'm working at the moment, maybe Mike will come along and see if that is possible.

It can be done. I'll have to research how tho. I'm too tired today, and won't be home until saturday, but I'll look into it.
(been thinking of doing that for a while now)

Was going to make some attempts using my old test forum, but....for some odd reason....don't know why.....I deleted it. :scratchhead: That's ok, the database is still there. No problem. Copy this forum to the test forum folder, rewrite the config file so it points to the test forum database and bingo. Back in buisness. Oh, umm...wait....The tables are gone?????? The database is empty???? well, that didn't work. Now I have to wait for my host to upload the database backup to the test forum database, then manually change settings inside it, (other wise it'll think This forum should be connecting to it) then can test. :coffee: Nope. Not strong enough.... :drink: awe...that's better.

It's now working. (just tested) I have my test forum back. I have no clue how or why it got deleted. I use it to test updates and such before making changes here.
