Bill is seriously considering changing the xProdigy Computing Forum software to the same one we are using here. We anticipate some resistance to any changes made there. He is also wanting to combine all the xProdigy forums to one page - that includes the Crafts BB, About the House, and Pets. They all have less participation than the Computing forum does.
What I would like from you two is your opinion of the software on the two forums, what you like and dislike about each one. I'm in favor of the change because I prefer this software to what is being used there. He chose that software because of the similarity to what was being used on Prodigy.
Anybody else who has visited the xProdigy Computing Forum is also welcome to comment.
Thanks,
Anne

I'll add a little techi jargon here.
If he chooses to switch to phpbb, he will lose all the content he has. The forum will have to start over from scratch becouse there isn't a converter program to change over to phpbb. All the posts will disapear and everyone will have to reregister.
Now, he can make a converter by looking at the forums database, and at phpbbs database and do the conversion manually. A lot of work, but it can be done.

Huh? Are we all going somewhere? I wanna be sure to have a ticket........... Although, I really, really, really like it here. Maybe I'm just confused........againXjmt wrote:My short answer is just to note that I spend more time here than there. There does seem to be somehow cumbersome just like PRODIGY used to be. Comfortably Cumbersome.

You can go here and see what is available: http://www.xprodigy.net/. Basically, it is a group of forums run by a former Prodigy member named Bill who went by the name of User1 on the old Prodigy computer forum. It is a really nice site, but the forum software leaves much to be desired. He is considering consolidating all the forums on one page and using the same software we have here.

No, this forum has nothing to do with the other forums at xProdigy.net. We are in our own little world here.Henry J wrote:Then we're not going to boldly go where no one has gone before after all?
