 oh, my.........it's good to be back.

Boy, the weather here is glorious. We had a lot of wind a few days back but things seem to he calming down.....weather wise, anyway.
Did I mention I'm getting the house renovated. Just the front. It was half wood and have stucco and I'm having it converted to just all stucco.

Anyone going to the Grand Slam? I know Hawk is......anyone else? It's in Burbank, this year.....and I read that it's because the Pasadena Convention Center is being renovated. Gee Great minds think alike. :)

Have a nice day.

Now, becouse I forgot in 2 different reply emails.....Thankyou lswot. That picture on the front page was supposed to be a US postage stamp. The commies err, I mean, the pacifists, err....umm...I really mean People who don't believe there is a God and that no one else should eather, protested the stamp and the postal service never published it. It was to commemorate 9/11.
I don't remember ever seeing that as a design for a postage stamp but consider the consequence of a stamp depicting somebody's god. Who's god? How many people believe in a supreme being (no, not W) but not in that way? UNITED STATES! Get it? We can't unite when there are people who insist on dividing by shoving their beliefs in the faces of others. No one is stopping anyone else from believing. The line is drawn quite clearly at insisting others believe also. Try and understand that.

It would have made a GREAT stamp without any spiritual imaging so why add it if not to create controversy by shoving one set of beliefs in the faces of others and the beliefs of others?

Commies? Pacifists? Why is it the most conservative bible thumpers have never even served in the military? Because they have no compulsion starting a war using my body but not their own. Mealy mouthed cowards!

You started this Trucker, not me. Either allow a free flow of commentary (which has not existed to this point here) or back off. Just A Thought!

Thank you.
Everyone has their opinions. I used the words in a joking manner. It wasn't meant as an insult to anyone. The stamp itself doesn't actually make a statement of a higher being. It's just hands. There is one person who lives in the next city north of me that is alway on my nerves, and the jests were twords him.
Now, onward, yes, they could have made a different design. Without the hands, it would still have been a great looking stamp, and still hold the same meaning. :)
For the record, I do my best not to censor posts. I don't recall ever censoring anyone here. :truce: ??

Oh, 4 years.(in the military) Went to Iran when they took our Embasy hostage. (now that was a scary time.

People bait and unfortunately they use the same words others use when kidding. The toughest thing about computers is no infliction of speech &/or body language.

Religion? Another probolem. If we keep going as we now are we will be no better than someplace like the Middle East with all their warring factions. And should the time ever come when our government starts weeding out people by their beilefs (as happened in Nazi Germany) I'd bet today's chest beating religious right will be very silent until some "official" religion is named. Then they'll all belong to that one.

OTOH go see "East Bank Story."

ps So we know we're on fairly even footing here, my 4 years go back a little further. We were in Gitmo when the missle crises broke. One problem. They never told us. Somebody somewhere decided we were "highly trained" unit that would be needed to "later" "take back" the base so we were evacuated. That's how pessimistic that situation was. If we knew up front we would have wanted to stay. Young and dumb do seem to rhyme, don't they?

You are quite right there my friend. It would be nice to get back to the way our founding fathers intended. "Government....Stay out of the Religion buisness".

Too true. I shall endevor to keep my sarcastic remarks to myself. :)

Now that doesn't surprise me. We were halfway to Iran with a shipload of bombs before we were told that it wasn't a test to see how much fuel and bombs the ship could carry on the open sea without sinking.
Let's see....ship was 750 feet long, main deck was normally 20 feet above the surface when loaded....had enough bombs to turn Iran into sand, Sat low enough to touch the water from the main deck, .... I think they found out that was about our limit. :D
