Yes, it was a quick year here as well. On Monday it was in the 80s and now we're having hard freezes. So it went winter to spring for about a week, then to summer for a day, don't know what happened to fall and now we're back to winter! :rotfl:

Ronnie put his tomato plants in the utility building Thursday and they survived the 30 and 31 we had Thursday and Friday nights. They didn't survive the 26 we had last night. :( To say he is unhappy is an understatement.

Some of us in the Cleveland, OH area are speculating the weather is a real tragedy for wild life and plants.

Most flowers, trees & bushes had started to bloom several times in the last 4 to 8 weeks or so but wildlife needs those plants and insects to survive and they're not getting them.

Robins seem to be particularly harshly hit. They can't find food, they are getting weak, they don't fly, they walk and they even don't bother moving when people and vehicles are coming towards them. They appear at times to be begging for food.

I see this happening to the robins but I have not noticed it with other animals of the wild however I fear we will have a shortage of robins for a while. I can't speculate on other situations I do not see but it troubles me none-the-less.

I never was a fan of anything but fast melting snow and now that it is appearing to be a killer I really do not like it.

All I've been hearing around here is how the grapes and winter wheat haved suffered. I hadn't really noticed about the robins, but now that you mention it, I haven't really seen any around. This cold hasn't seemed to have affected the squirrels, however...

That's true. We all could fly out to California. OTOH we may then never find out where our luggage went. :rotfl:
