I know all that. All I'm saying is couldn't he have worked up a little anger by all this unwanted attention by the time Brutus got to him? Like maybe a swear word or two? Something human.

I saw a program a couple of nights ago that postulated that Caesar initiated the assassination himself because he was already weak and ill and he wanted to go out on his own terms. Plus the "Beware the Ides of March" prophecy might have spooked him into it a bit. His epilepsy and diarrhea where worsening and he didn't want anyone to see him like that in public.
