According to today's NYTimes the fireworks seen on TV were in part computer generated and not what people attending the games saw. :nano:

I believe this was first reported by the Italian news media.

I wondered about that. There were so many times fireworks erupted from the top of the stadium, I had to wonder how many "rounds" it could have staged at once.

And the "footprint" display of the fireworks across the city. I wondered about that one, too.

Did they give any details about which ones were CG?

They only addressed the issue of safety for using the digitally added fireworks. Something to do with helicoptors flying around taking the images to be broadcast. I'm guessing someone will digitally dissect films of the display and erase them. If that hasn't already happened.

I was out of town and missed the whole thing. Another big story erupting is of the little girl who sang the chinas national anthem. She lipsinced whilst another "not so pretty" girl sang.

Yeah, well they still ain't being original. Who was the first celebrity to lip sync the National Anthem at a ball game here in the USA eons ago? I'm not sure if it was baseball, world series, superbowl but whatever it created a stink. Maybe Superbowl with Whitney Houston?

Then Jose Feliciano did the National Anthem at a Baseball game in Detroit but sang and played it with a Latin beat. By the reaction you'd have thought the Devil Herself was residing in Detroit stadium. :rotfl:
